Enterprise Voice Essentials
Microsoft Skype for Business is already one of the key communication tools for audio and video conferencing, as well as quick and easy chat exchange for many companies and government agencies. However, when used as an enterprise voice solution, there are some weaknesses that complicate the unconditional use as a phone replacement at least. This includes calling the emergency services and the user help desk when the PC is locked. But even the simple signaling of calls while the PC is locked or the distinction of calls to ringtone are essential issues.
With the Enterprise Voice Essentials, we offer you a complete set of features that make Skype for Business usable for your business or government. With just one software, you can solve all of the above problems at once – without customizing the Skype for Business standard software. Instead, our extensions are based on certified interfaces of the software. You decide which functions you want to use. Because of a local configuration or a corresponding company policy, each of the functions can be individually enabled and configured.

The most important functions at a glance
Signaling
Incoming calls or conference requests are also signaled to you in the appearance of the standard toast, even if the PC is locked or the screensaver is activated. Of course, you have the usual functionality and can accept or reject the call without unlocking your PC.
Different Ringtones
If desired, you can define different ringtones for internal and external calls in order to classify the call already at ringing. And if you wish, you can also define a contact-specific ringtone per contact.
Additional Information
If desired, you can display up to three further information on the lock screen (short texts such as PC name, object number, notes), for example, to simplify calls to the user help desk.
Emergency Call (9-1-1)
Provided emergency numbers can be reached via a freely configurable key combination or a button on the screen. In addition, it is possible to provide information on emergency calls and behavior in an emergency, much like the old “emergency call stickers” on the phone.
Custom Buttons
The local configuration or a central policy can be used to define up to 5 additional buttons, which are displayed when the PC is locked. In addition, you can, for example, make the user help desk or your internal security service accessible in order to be able to reach it even if the identifier is blocked.
Extended Information
Upon request, an additional window will appear next to Skype for Business’s standard toast, providing additional information for incoming calls or conference calls. For example, you can display whether the caller is calling from mobile or landline.
Robustness
Our Enterprise Voice Essentials monitor the most common operating errors in the context of Skype for Business and warn the user accordingly (eg if two or more users start Skype for Business on the same PC)
Statistics
In combination with our communication dashboard (sold separately), the Enterprise Voice Essentials provide additional statistical information such as the firmware versions of the devices used.
Further information
Overview
The Enterprise Voice Essentials for Skype for Business extend the standard client via the manufacturer-provided interface, the so-called Software Development Kit (SDK). It does not change the default installation of Skype for Business and does not affect the manufacturer’s intended support. Installation is possible through a single software package that is installed locally on each PC where you want to use the Enterprise Voice Essentials.
